Interest in VoIP is growing in Polish markets

The demand for VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) -solutions is rising also in Polish markets. Icecom Ltd. launched its export activities to Poland in the beginning of February through local Country Manager. "Polish markets have a remarkable growing potential in the field of IP-communication. The EU-membership of the country brought substantial EU-funding for the development of infrastructure, which in turn increases the investments of organizations especially in telecommunication sector. Icecom is part of this development by training organizations how to make the most of VoIP-technology. The company offers its expertise and IP-based communication products for Polish operators and system integrators" states Markku Hentilä, CEO of Icecom Ltd.

Country Manager Andrzej Wolski believes also in the success of IP-based communication solutions in Polish markets. "The investments of the Polish organizations for ICT-devices, systems and software are constantly growing. The Telecommunications Act passed by Polish authorities in September 2004 provides for a greater liberalization of Polish Telecommunications market and enables better opportunities for new VoIP-technology providers in the field. Icecom is offering communication solutions especially to companies in Warsaw area" Wolski reveals.

Statistics about growing internet markets are showing the potential of Polish markets. In Poland there are about 40 million inhabitants and Poland's population is one of the biggest in Europe. The country belongs to top 20 countries in the world concerning the number of internet users, which in Poland is about 9 million. Poland's internet penetration, 24 percent, is in a quick upswing, and the organizations are adopting internet as working tool in growing extent.

In addition to Polish markets Icecom is negotiating with Swedish and Australian resellers about cooperation opportunities. "Icecom is closely cooperating with its Finnish partners, but since VoIP will be gradually replacing the traditional telephone system all over the world, Icecom is constantly searching for new cooperation partners in international markets." Markku Hentilä states.
